More images are coming soon!

Hey everyone! More images will be coming soon! I will be going into greater detail on the projects that I have already created, ones that I'm in the middle of, and things that I'm thinking for the future. I will also post paintings, drawings, etc that are available for purchase (that is for those who are interested).

Interface Design

Besides print work and editorials my weakest link is web design. I've only ever completed 2 websites (one html and one flash) and to be honest they are not even worthy to be shown. I think I struggle with this area because of the coding, my brain has a hard time thinking in code and it likes much more creative approaches.

Despite my weakness I greatly desire to better learn web design and all the coding and logic behind it. To do this I will be creating 3 websites between today and the end of April. The first being my personal design website. The second, a website for an artist and designer named Rhaelene Lowther. (She greatly needs a portfolio website). And the last a website centered around a layout that I have been working on.

I am hoping that by completing these websites that I will build my confidence in web design and be able to tackle other such projects that come my way.

Print

I am not ashamed to say that one of my weakest areas in graphic design is print and editorial work. Here is all that I have. PLEASE leave positive comments in regards to opinions, ideas, etc that may help me improve my skills and talent in this area.

3d Modeling and Animation

As I have stated my passion lies with 3d work. Here I have some models that I have created. The squid and octopus were for the animated short "TAKO" (movie poster is posted in this post as well) and the shoes were created along with the "Miles Louis Collection" logo and branding system. Each of these projects will be posted individually with greater explanation and details.

Logos and Branding Systems

Here are the logos and branding systems that I have designed. In the next few weeks I will posting each project individually in order to fully describe each project.

Work Experience at the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art (NEMHA)

While working on my undergraduate degree at Utah State I worked as a student employee at the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art (NEMHA). I would like to share with you a little bit about my experience working at there as well as the type of things I did while employed.

I began at the museum in July 2009 but as a volunteer, not a worker. I worked just a few short weeks and then I was offered a position as a student employee. I volunteered there because I have a great passion for art (especially modern art!) and it was summer and I was extremely bored, despite nearly working 40 hours at another job.

In the beginning my job duties were mainly to man the front desk and greet visitors. While greeting them I would inform the visitors of the museum rules and etiquette as well as the exhibits that we currently had. On the days when the museum was closed I would work on cleaning, painting, organizing & etc; I did pretty much anything that they needed done. As time moved on I began to learn more about the artwork and exhibits and began to help with giving tours around the museum. I also was privileged to see how the museum worked from the behind the scenes, where artwork was kept and how it was handled and cleaned.

As I proceeded further into my art discipline I began to do a few small design projects around the museum. I designed posters and information work that was displayed in the museum.

The two posters I created were to give the visitors information about the exhibit that was currently being displayed. At that time it was the "Uses of the Real". Below are the posters that were displayed.

They have been placed side by side. These posters are copyrighted,
please do not download.

I also created informational flip books for specific museum pieces. These flip booklets were placed next to their corresponding artwork and was there to engage the viewer to learn more about the artwork. The flip booklets were very much a love hate relationship. I ABSOLUTELY loved learned more about the artwork and I came out with so much knowledge in regards to the artist but my computer had so many problems with the adobe suite that I was constantly having to reinstall and un-install it. Luckily the computer is working just fine and I can continue to
design.

My employment ended in August 2010. I chose to end this employment in order to focus on my education.
